Vic: Friend says next two days decisive for Christine Nixon

Former New South Wales police officer TERRY O'CONNELL says the next two days are critical
for CHRISTINE NIXON.

Mr O'CONNELL served for several years under the former Victorian police chief .. who's
under attack for dining out on the night of last years Black Saturday bushfires that killed
173 people.

An inquiry has found Ms NIXON was out of contact for three hours .. and the police
union and the state opposition want her sacked from her current job as head of the reconstruction
authority.

Mr O'CONNELL says the issue has become an opportunity for some to attack Ms NIXON's
character and destroy her.

Bushfire survivors have so far expressed divided opinions on Ms NIXON'S actions ..

while Foster's Group is standing by its decision to appoint her as a non-executive director.
