Fed: Dairy farmers should enjoy better prices
CANBERRA, Feb 27 AAP - Australia's beleaguered dairy farmers should enjoy better prices
if they survived the deregulation process, the nation's chief forecaster said today.
The number of farmers leaving the industry was expected to accelerate over the next
few years, the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) said.
It said that while there would be some pain in regional areas, the industry would benefit
overall from more efficient production forced by deregulation.
