NSW: Thredbo lease "scandalous"; National Parks Association
SYDNEY, Jan 20 AAP - The long-term lease granted by the NSW government to the Thredbo
ski field was "scandalous" and should be overturned, the National Parks Association of
NSW (NPA) said today.
It has been revealed Kosciuszko Thredbo, a subsidiary of Amalgamated Holdings, pays
either $8,000 or five per cent of its income, whichever is greater, for a year's lease
of the 950 hectare site.
Leaked cabinet documents have revealed the company has a 45 year lease and will be
given the option to renew for another 50 years under similar …
