Qld: Teen hacks into Cambridge, court told

A teenager has faced the Brisbane Magistrates Court on charges of hacking into the
computer systems of Cambridge University and a Melbourne-based internet provider.

The arrest of information technology worker 17-year-old ADAM ZACHARY GILMORE, who lives
in the west Brisbane suburb of Kenmore, was the first of its kind under the Criminal Code
Act of 1995.

GILMORE was not required to enter a plea on the two counts of unauthorised access to
computer systems using a telecommunications network.

His arrest last month followed a short investigation by the Australian High Tech Crime
Centre after it received a complaint in October from an Internet Service Provider.

GILMORE will face court again in Brisbane on February the 16th for a committal mention
of the charges.
