The first thing that caught Mike Maloney's eye when he walked intothe Illinois players lounge at the beginning of his officialrecruiting visit was the orange and blue jersey with his name on it.
"I walked in and saw my jersey up in the players lounge: No. 74,Maloney," said the highly regarded 6-5, 265-pound defensive linemanfrom Joliet Catholic. "That was so cool. I couldn't wait to put thatjersey on."
That was last Friday afternoon, the beginning of a 48-hourwhirlwind in which Maloney and nine other recruits would get an up-close look at Illinois.
