Later, Mr Wellington said the government may consider revoking the licence if it emerged
that shareholding politicians used their political influence to win the licence, and that the
company's directors were aware of it.
"If there are other parties that are aware of the alleged improper behaviour...why should
they be allowed to benefit?" Mr Wellington asked.
The net bet affair is the subject of investigations by the Auditor-General and by the
Criminal Justice Commission.
Speaker Ray Hollis said he would take advice from the government and the opposition before
deciding whether to allow questions to be asked in parliament, because of the independent
investigations.
